We think our iHerb customers are awesome and we truly appreciate their support and their patronage, but we also know that they are all real people who are doing their best to live a life of health and wellness. That’s not always an easy task. Given that, we wanted to feature some of them and get their take on the steps they take towards their own well-being and hopefully, iHerb plays a part in that. Perhaps, from their words, you’ll be able to get some inspiration to help you make positive and healthy changes in your life as well. Today, let’s meet Elaine F. from Lafayette, LA.
Tell us a little about yourself:
My name is Elaine Flanagan, I am 62 year old retired educator who thinks that this is the best time of life. I love life and I love being able to do the things that I want which includes daily exercising and eating healthy. I do Pilates twice a week at a studio and eat out with friends after. The other days of the week I usually do yoga. Life is Good.
How did you find out about iHerb?
I don’t know exactly but I think I was searching supplements on Google and found iHerb. I have been ordering from them for years so I don’t exactly remember the process of how I found it.
What about iHerb first appealed to you?
The ease of ordering from my home, the prices, being able to read what others say about the products and the availability of so many items.
How long have you been in iHerb customer?
As stated early, I don’t know but it has been for several years.
What are your favorite products and why?
That is a hard question as I have so many but I guess I will narrow it down to Carlson Fish Oil. I know that it helps to keep my skin healthy and keeps my cholesterol levels in the correct range. My HDL is around 108 and my LDL is 87. My internist always tells me “people just don’t have blood like you”. I take no cholesterol lowering drugs and I know that the fish oil plays a part in keeping it in such a healthy range.
I also like Green Tea Skin because it has helped my face to look fresher and more youthful.
What is your health and wellness philosophy?
I am actually an 18 year breast cancer survivor and it has been my greatest teacher. It is a gift for which I am very thankful . I made the decision when having chemo that I would never let myself be controlled by fear and guilt again and I would be responsible for my own health. Doctors can walk with me on my path but I make the final decision about what is best for me and for my body.
Do you have a favorite mantra or quote that describes how you try to live your life?
“What you focus on grows” and “energy follows thought”. If you focus on health your life will change and you will find so much to be grateful for in each moment.
Do you have any current health goals you’re working toward and what are you doing to reach them or have you actually met one or more and would like to share your success story?
Just that I think Health is a journey and we continue to walk it each day. I try to live in the moment and to enjoy whatever “is” without judging. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don’t but I am a work in progress. As long as we continue to grow and learn then our time on this earth is worthwhile.
Are there any health and wellness tips you’d like to share with other iHerb customers?
Love yourself enough to know that you are worthy of vibrant health and well being. Don’t look outside of yourself to find it but rather go within your own Being and from there you will be guided on your path of health. What ever it is you need will come to you.
