When it comes to getting more greens in your diet, it’s not always an easy task, but one really easy to way to include them is in a smoothie. One such smoothie recipe comes from Nicky, the blogger for Nicky in the Raw. In this Banana-Orange Green Smoothie recipe, not only do you get spinach, which is an excellent source of iron and lutein, but you also get Vitamin C from the oranges, potassium from the bananas and essential fatty acids from the hemp or chia seeds. If that isn’t the breakfast of champions, I don’t know what is and in fact, this is a great healthy snack alternative anytime throughout the day. Click here to check out the original recipe posting.
If you are trying to follow a high raw, gluten-free diet and love green smoothies and green juice, you might want to explore Nicky’s blog because it’s a useful resource for recipes as well as tips on how to include more raw foods and healthy meals in your diet. Other smoothie recipes that might interest you include Nicky’s Banana Maca Smoothie and Apple Cinnamon Smoothie and I’m sure if you explore her blog even more, you’ll find even more things that might interest you.
