Suggested Uses for Grapefruit Essential Oil

Grapefruit is a bit of a botanical mystery. It appears to be the hybrid of a sour fruit known as a shaddock and a sweet orange. However, there are no existing records to show that there was a deliberate hybridization of the two plants. Hello,
I understand that grapefruit oil is phototoxic and skin shouldn’t be exposed to it for 1-2 days after using it. Is this the same if it has been put in a small quantity in a face cream? Or does the 1-2 day rule apply?
    Thanks
